DIVAS 2010 - 5K Walk for Charity, Women's Conference
On Oct 2nd, join us for a 5K walk for Breast Cancer research and the first ever Women's Conference that aims to provide South Asian women with information and resources in various topics. From the serious to the fun, these topics are selected in a wide range of areas to ensure the greatest spectrum of empowerment. Come walk for a worthy cause and leave with information that is all things DIVA!

IAKCares: The IAKC network works with families during their hardest
hours. Whether a victim of violence, neglect, abandonment or simply a
family in need of a helping hand, IAKC works to link individuals and

IAKC broad activities around the year are given below:

Consular Services are conducted in conjunction with the
consulate general of India in Houston. The staff from the
consulate visit for one day for the purpose of providing consular services such as Indian Passports and Visa to India.

Social Service Forum run by a volunteer team of professional
social workers. It provides confidential counseling
services, referrals, crisis intervention, to individuals and
families and conducts special seminars.

Senior Citizens Forum strives to improve the quality of life
of our senior citizens by arranging social events like picnics,
dinners, medical clinics and other get-together.

Youth forum works towards healthy and fun environment
for the youth in the community through seminar, youth
camps, educational fairs etc.

Patrika, IAKC’s own e-magazine send to its subscribers
announcing community updates

Republic Day & Independence Day, Serves as a celebration
of India’s rich culture and heritage, and brings together
the community and serves as a platform for the children to
perform their talents.

India Nite is an annual event organized to showcase
children and adults of all ages perform dance, drama,
songs, and a variety of Indian classical and non-classical
items.

Health Camps are organized to help the community
members get a better understanding of ways to improve
their health and well-being.
